The Senior Associate will be responsible for conducting strategic outreach to influential sectors of American leadership on issues of antisemitism policy. These audiences include, but are not limited to, government, law enforcement, the media, corporate America, and social media companies and AI research labs, to better inform AJC’s policies and positions and most effectively counter antisemitism. The position will be responsible for streamlining updated policy prescriptions for, and tracking progress of, AJC’s Call to Action Against Antisemitism in America, a mobilizing resource for American leaders to understand, respond to, and prevent antisemitism.

Major Functions:
Online and social media
● Expand AJC’s engagement with tech and social media companies and AI research.
● Track tech and social media company policy changes and alterations to company standards.
● Facilitate AJC’s trusted flagger/early warning partnerships with social media companies.
● Research new trends in antisemitism within online spaces and inform AJC staff and lay leadership.
● Connect those in tech, social media, and AI with relevant AJC staff and lay leaders as well as institutes, programs, and initiatives.
● Oversee the coordination of internal AJC working groups on online hate, cybersecurity, tech, and AI and work closely with AJC’s Department of Policy and Political Affairs, Contemporary Jewish Life, AJC Europe, Legal, and other relevant Departments where there is crossover between antisemitism policy and online hate speech and free speech issues.
U.S. Government
● Track U.S. government use of AJC’s recommendations from the Call to Action Against Antisemitism in America; ensure regular updates of that document.
● Cooperate with colleagues to support and advance the work of the House and Senate Bipartisan Taskforces for Combating Antisemitism and the Interparliamentary Taskforce to Combat Online Antisemitism.
● Support U.S. Director for Combating Antisemitism at U.S. government meetings.
Corporate
● Work with AJC’s Director of Training and Education and the Department of Regional Offices on updates to AJC’s corporate policy recommendations for AJC’s Understanding Antisemitism corporate trainings.
Data collection and research
● Assist with AJC’s State of Antisemitism in America report and other quantitative and qualitative data collection and research projects to ensure robust data-driven advocacy, on topics ranging from American Jews’ experiences with and perceptions of antisemitism in the U.S. to the spread of mis/disinformation and conspiracies online, on social media, and by AI.
● Support the Department in efforts to use geospatial analysis to map AJC data.

Qualifications
● Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree
● 3-5 years’ experience in related field
● Demonstrated understanding of contemporary antisemitism, including online and on social media
● Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
● Detail oriented with excellent project management and organizational skills
● Ability to think innovatively and solve problems under pressure
● Subject matter knowledge and excellent research and writing skills
● Fluency with social media and knowledge of AI chatbots
● Self-starter

The salary range for this position is $55,000 to $62,000, depending on relevant experience.
